This support group is designed to give moms a chance to share the day to day challenges and celebrations unique to this stage in motherhood with children of 6 months to 18 months old. Topics covered: Separation and attachment. Sleep issues. "The good-enough mother" syndrome. Nursing, weaning and introducing solids. Work vs. home. Time budgeting between self, relationships, identity, and last but not least, FUN! Sara Kotzin is a licensed clinical social worker and mother of three, with a private practice in running support groups and one-on-one in Washington Heights and Columbus Circle. Her speciality is working with new moms and dads on the transition to parenting and postpartum issues.

This new class incorporates dance, percussion, and singing. With a live drummer, it's fun and easy to catch onto the dance steps. You and your child will learn this traditional Puerto Rican form of dance, rhythms, improvisation, & songs. Everyone will get to take turns using drums, shakers as well as a guiro. Come have fun and cut loose in this playful exciting class! Taught by, Juan Usera, dancer and percussionist has been performing and teaching in New York City and Puerto Rico for over 20 years. He is the the lead instructor at Los Pleneros de la 21’s Bomba and Plena Children’s Workshops in East Harlem and Mommy and Me Bomba in Brooklyn, and throughout the Department of Education schools.

Jessica Shapley's New Mom's Group: Support groups for new mothers, Jessica Shapley facilitates a weekly discussion for mothers and their babies (ages 0 to 6 months), addressing postpartum issues in a safe, nonjudgemental environment, bringing her compassion, humor personal and clinical expertise to the conversation. Come share the joys and address the challenges of parenting together with other moms in your neighborhood. Meets on Thursdays.

This Spanish emersion class incorporates stories, music, and projects. With repitition of the basics, your youngster will be sure to walk away with some Spanish phrases and classic Spanish music. Each week will be a different topic, such as: colors, body parts, numbers, and more.

This is a class to see baby giggles and loose those jiggles! We use a fitness ball to target your core and your baby serves as the weight. Spend quality time with your baby and achieve incredible results. This is a class for all levels, but be prepared to get your BURN on! This full emersion spanish class incorporates stories and music through fun activities including interactive books, puppets, and more. Your child will enjoy their favorite storybooks, such as eric carle, read and sung in spanish. Ages 15 mo-5y. Saturdays 4:45pm (Starts March 6th)

Separation and Individuation: Fostering independence while maintaining connection 6 PM Expert Psychologist and Analyst, Norma Cofresi, Phd. presents: From 1.5- 3 years of age, toddlers begin to want to make their own choices.  This is an exciting developmental milestone, which comes about as the toddler learns to walk and feel secure in the presence of the primary caregiver. At this stage, toddlers want to do things on their own and may show oppositional behavior. At the same time, the child may become frustrated with the inability to do things and also may experience stress at separation. This workshop will provide a developmental overview of what to expect as your child navigates this crucial stage. Finally, the workshop will give participants opportunities to troubleshoot specific situations with other parents and the workshop leader.
